Front elevation following completion of structural repairs

ASRS were requested by one of our loss adjuster clients to provide a repair solution to the superstructure where minor subsidence to the front and rear corners of the gable had caused cracking and de-bonding of the render, this in tern allowed water to penetrate into the clinker block construction underneath the render and weaken the structure.

The specification was produced to reinforce the masonry by connecting the front, gable and rear elevations together to enable it to act as one. This was achieved by installing Helifix masonry beams from the front elevation returned to the gable and round to the rear elevation. Some additional crack stitches were also installed to reconnect the clinker blocks internally where the movement had caused minor cracking.

Once we had exposed the clinker blocks to the front and rear corner, some of the clinker blocks had started to crumble due to the absorption of water so these needed to be replaced to help the reconnection of the front and rear corners to the gable.

Once the Helifix masonry reinforcement and rebuilt sections had been installed, ASRS repaired all of the de-bonded render and painted the whole house to provide the owner with a concealed finish.
