The retaining wall was located on a busy main road in east Bristol. Flats had been built on the bank at the back and had contributed to the failure of the wall.
ASRS designed a scheme to restore the structural integrity of the masonry where cracking and outward movement had occurred, by the combined use of the Helibeam System and Platipus ground anchors. Compressed air driven equipment was employed to install the 6m long anchors at 1500mm staggered centres in conjunction with the Helibeams, achieving a working load of 25KN.
The project took 12 days to complete and the result so aesthetically sound that the client was unable to tell we had even been there!
